Stress Management Center 200-Hour Teacher Training

June – November 2018

The 200-Hour Teacher Training is a foundational training exploring the tools and techniques for practicing, teaching, and adapting yoga for the individual. Upon completion of this program, you will be well-equipped to teach private clients, public classes, and be eligible to enroll in the Stress Management Center of Marin’s Yoga Therapy Training.

Who Should Take this training:

  • Physicians, nurses, physical therapists, psychotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and any other health and wellness professionals who would like to integrate some of the tools therapeutic yoga has to offer into their practices
  • Individuals looking to deepen their studies of yoga from a traditional and well-rounded approach that includes asanas, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and anatomy
  • Aspiring yoga teachers who would like to teach special populations and adapt ancient yoga tools to modern conditions for themselves and/or for their students
  • Individuals seeking for a 200-Hour Teacher Training Program that serves as their stepping stone to become a certified yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT)
  • Students of yoga who have found relief through yoga therapy, and are inspired to deepen their studies or serve as a yoga teacher or yoga therapist to spread the healing

  • Techniques and alignment cues for teaching common Hatha Yoga asanas, including thorough breakdowns of each pose and adaptation of asanas to special populations such as chronic pain patients, brain-injured patients, seniors, and more
  • An introduction to pranayama and meditation techniques as tools for deepening your own or your student’s practice
  • The Art of Teaching on using effective language, sequencing, and adapting for various populations, from healthy individuals to special populations
  • Western Anatomy and Physiology for further integration and understanding of benefits, contraindications, and other physiological effects of common poses and pranayama practices on the individual
  • Easter Anatomy and Physiology, including Ayurveda and subtle anatomy of the body, and the effects of asanas and pranayama practices on the individual from an eastern stand-point
  • Yoga Philosophy, including the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and Vedic traditions, to serve as guidelines on holding one’s own ethics as an individual, as a participant in the society and community, and as a yoga teacher holding space for students and clients

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to THE YOGA GARDEN. We charge a $150 cancellation fee per person for cancellations prior to 30 days before start of training. No refunds for cancellations within 30 days of the program. No refunds will be made for failure to attend or failure to complete the program. No transfers. All refunds will be processed within 2 weeks following the start of the program.
